Brussels Sprout

Macro and Micro Picture of the Day 2020-04-04

Here is a Brussels sprout (Brassica oleracea, gemmifera group). Brussels sprouts look like very small cabbages of diameter 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm). They grow on tall stalks in a helical pattern, and can be harvested anytime during the winter, since freezing does not affect quality. They are rich in vitamin C and K.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm) on a 49 mm long extension tube.
Software used: GIMP.
