Flax Flower

Macro and Micro Picture of the Day 2020-07-09

Here is a flax flower (Linum usitatissimum). Right click for full resolution. The flowers range in size from 15 to 25 mm in diameter. Fibers from the stem of the plant are used to make linen, and from its seeds, linseed oil is used as a nutritional supplement and for wood finishing.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
